My athletic journey started as a young kid when I participated in every activity possible growing up. From t-ball, to soccer, baseball, basketball, football, track, and everything in between. When my competitive days ended, I knew I still wanted to be in the world of sports which is a reason why I love my job as Director of Events at Xtream Arena and Green State
Family Field house. I help direct and manage around 330 days of events at the venue annually - many of which are sporting events. I've learned that while I'm more often behind the scenes rather than the actual playing field, I can still take my competitive mindset into creating the best events possible.
At age 25, I was in the worst physical shape of my life. I had little motivation for the gym and no consistent workout plan. When the scale showed 195 lbs (much of it bad weight), I knew I had to change my ways. With the encouragement of a co-worker, I joined a group fitness class and it was exactly what I needed.
Three months later, after some persuading, I went on a post-class lunch date with a cute gym friend. That someone later became my wife. Three years after that we were married, and two years after that we had our first kid. Group fitness - specifically Versa - is so special to our family and has created a great bond and motivation for our marriage that I never expect to change!
The single most important thing in your health is CONSISTENCY. The hardest part is showing up - so just do it!
