Growing up in a single parent household we could not afford to do a lot of extracurricular activities. While we may not have been able to play any sports, my Mom did make an effort and taught my sisters and I the importance of exploring and appreciating the great outdoors. Something I still love to do today, and something that led me to finding the sport of Disc Golf later on in life.
It started off as just a fun way to spend time with my husband outdoors. In 2016 I started competing quickly advancing and started competing professionally in 2018. I am also a 2x FPO Putting World Champion (2022 & 2023).
It was tough growing up the way we did, but I am thankful for the hardships. It made all these accomplishments later on in life that much sweeter. Looking back now, I realize that all those hardships were just lessons. Lessons that taught me what is really important in life, and taught me to be the empathetic and caring person that I am today.
